In the spirit of global cooperation and concern for the health and prosperity of the German Pinscher breed, it has proven vital for breeders to make good decisions by having access to full and complete pedigrees that include information on all available health testing.  Our goal as breeders must be to maintain or improve the health and genetic diversity of our beloved dogs through knowledge and disclosure of pedigree and health results.  This database gives us the ability to analyze the potential impact on the breed of our breeding choices including the potential of passing on hereditary diseases. Our goal is to assist all breeders in making healthy breeding decisions.

Future dog owners can also use this database to check the background of a puppy they are intending to buy to see the health of the extended pedigree and the level of inbreeding resulting from the combination.

The most important part of this database are the (international) health test results collected from breeders, clubs and databases from various countries. This database gives the user the possibility to calculate through ten generations the inbreeding coefficient (COI) and Ancestor Loss Coefficient (AVK) of a proposed litter, to check health-results of your own or potential mates or just to browse through the pedigrees and photos.

This is a FREE database and anyone may sign up to access the database.  After you sign up, you can log in for additional search options on health issues, pedigrees and pedigree analysis.

As a breeder or owner, whether you are active in the breed or not, you can help to complete the pedigrees, add photos and contribute health-information.  If you have any old pedigrees that you don't have time to enter, please scan and send them to our administrators and we will enter them for you.
